Contribuiți la feedbackCute Bangladeshi restaurant tucked away in London’s Brick Lane. The food was very authentic and home-style Bangladeshi food, the portions were hearty, and the quality of the dishes was excellent. Service was great, and the staff went out of their way to make sure all of us were enjoying our meal. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving authentic Bangladeshi food.
Great little authentic Bangladeshi restaurant, way better than the standard Anglo Indian food found everywhere else on the street.
Gram Bangla one of the best Bangladeshi restaurants in uk.. I have been so many time .. there ilish Mach is the best and shatkora with lam.. highly recommended
Graam Bangla is super cozy, feels and tastes just like home. The giant mural is gorgeous! There's a display of the food items towards the back of the store. This was a great way to get an idea of what the different curries look like how much jhol etc. All the service people were super friendly and accommodating! The food itself was unmatched! I haven't eaten food this good outside of my own home in a LONG time. Not all of the bhartas are vegetarian (some are fish). I simply asked for a bharta platter with only veggies. The bhartas with daal and bhat really hit the spot. Some of the bhartas are fairly spicy, but that's just how I like it. It was a really good variety and they all tasted amazing. I also had the greens and aloo and they both tasted just like home. It was a flavor bomb! I'm coming back when I'm back in London, no doubt.
So I had heard that Brick Lane in London had good Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine to try. I will say that maybe I just went at a particular busy time Friday evening), but many of the restaurants had people standing in front of the door, trying to get you to come in before you even had a second to look at the menu. It made me feel like people were being pushy without giving me a chance to just look at the menus from the window and to decide if I wanted to eat on my own. Just something to keep in mind if you are in the area. So I ended up at Gram Bangla since there were no employees trying to coax you to come inside, and it looked small enough where I thought the prices would be decent. The employees were very nice and one of them walked me through which dishes would interests me. I ended up ordering a fish with rice and spinach side dishes. Now unfortunately, I am pretty weak when it comes to spice tolerance, and there was one point where the fish must've touched a sensitive part as I swallowed, because for a few minutes my throat felt like it was burning. I had to end up asking for another water and more napkins to blow my nose. Not the restaurant's fault, of course, but it sucked that it happened. The food itself was very good, and the waiter attending to me was nice. However, the total bill for the dishes and two bottled waters ended up being £24 $30). Maybe the fish made it more expensive, but it was definitely more than what I was expecting considering this was more of a counter service place than a sit-down restaurant. If I had known how much it would've been, I probably would've gone somewhere else with service.
