Grampa Chuys Mexican - Torrington

Okay so the food was fantastic. The Carne Asada plate, to the 3 piece chicken. Our server Hope was a very polite and new so much about the food we were ordering. Fresh was an added bonus on all the dishes we ordered. Grampa Chuy's has defiantly made fans of us today. And we will be back.

From Texas and traveling on vacation. The staff was nice and the food was very fresh and fantastic. I had the carne asada. I was a little hesitant about ordering the carne asada since I eat it weekly in Texas....what a nice surprise. I will stop here again when traveling through Torrington in the future.

The staff is friendly, and the food is fresh and tasty. It's a great spot for dining in Torrington. If you're looking for something completely authentic, you might want to head to Cheyenne or somewhere in Nebraska. However, for Americanized Mexican cuisine, Grampa Chuy's offers decent portions at reasonable prices.

I stopped here for lunch on a Sunday while passing through town. The carne asada was delicious, and the staff was friendly and quick. It was nice to mingle with the locals and get a sense of the town. We sat near the kitchen, and everything that came out looked fantastic!

Although I don't live in Torrington, I always find myself having dinner at Grampa Chuy's when I visit. I'm saying this in defiance of all the skeptics out there. Here are my thoughts on the place: While the style of Mexican cuisine may lean more toward Americanized than authentic, I still maintain that the food is flavorful and offers good value. They might not compare to Lira's in Lingle, but in Torrington, they are one of the few decent Mexican restaurants available. The service is okay, though not exceptional, and the decor and layout can feel a bit awkward. Because of these factors, I can't give them a five-star rating. However, I always enjoy consistently good food during my visits. I encourage everyone to try it out and form their own opinion. I truly hope this restaurant continues to thrive and eventually expands into a larger, more suitable space.
