Mr Chippy - Torfaen

Mr. chippy lives on his high call. my wife and I visited for a late afternoon meal and were greeted by pleasant opposing forces, were shown on a table in the immaculate dining area and ordered from their diverse menu. we were served with delicious cod and chips within minutes with tea, brotbutter. highly recommended.

Always a friendly service. nice hot eating and the choice. the light fluffy chip is a nice teig on the fish.

I spent every weekend here with my mother when I was a child. she would talk to her friends, and I and my cousin william would interfere in a child's meal. it is still an amazing place for eating, but they need to pull out their finger with their chips. they are smart and soggy and not as they should

I visited this restaurant today to get some chips and paid 3 pounds for them in a tray. They looked like they had been sitting around for a while and definitely were not freshly cooked. When I asked about it, the owner explained that the vinegar they were sitting in caused them to look like that. He replaced them for me and the second batch was much better - properly cooked, crispy and golden. I wonder why they didn't serve them like that the first time.

I went to Mr Chippy, one of my favorite fish and chip shops that I often recommend to others. I ordered a small portion of chips, as I usually do, but I was disappointed to find that the portion was smaller than usual. The chips were also unevenly cooked, with some being undercooked. This was not up to their usual standard of generous portions and perfectly cooked chips. I plan to give them another chance soon in hopes that they return to their usual high quality and value for money.
