Bastet - Tijuana

I've been to a few cat cafes in different countries, and this was probably my favorite! Staff was friendly, rates were affordable, and they actually had quite a lot to choose from on the menu (not to mention postcards, art, and other fun cat-themed souvenirs...for sale). Most of the cats there seemed genuinely interested in being pet, which leads me to believe they are genuinely happy there. My only complaint: they do have house rules, but in the future I'd like to see them enforced. When I arrived with my travel partner we were alone for a while. But then a group of came in, and another couple, and it really didn't feel relaxing anymore for me or the kitties—the space is a cozy and the large group was particularly rowdy. One of the people was even being a little pesky to the cats (poking with toys and talking loudly). Someone monitoring people (even just checking in occasionally) might prevent this. Regardless, it was a great visit, and my complaint is really more about other visitors rather than the place or staff itself. I even saw one of the kitties get adopted! I definitely want to come back here again, and I'd recommend to any cat lover visiting Tijuana.

There are not many English reviews for this place, so I will do my best to give my opinion. I have lived both in South Korea and in japan, where catzencafés are very common and are visited by many people. they are for the greatest part very high quality and great places for cats and of course cats. as a cat person myself I like to think of myself as a good judge of the cat cafes that they have been in 4 different countries. on my own merit, I think this is a wonderful and amazing place! very similar to those in japan and korea. maybe a little smaller than this place, but the cat room is well designed. all cats, young and old, seemed very happy there. they make themselves quite clear whether they want to be touched or not, and they will come to you if they want to be attentive. there are many cat toys around the room for them to use on the kitties. on the cat' part of this cat catzencafés there is really nothing wrong in this place. like others, it is a clean and family-friendly atmosphere and all cats in the inner are available for adoption, and I had happy enough to see that a kitten is accepted there during my time. on the side of the cafes this place is wonderful! I have always been a fan of affogato drink (ice cream and espresso shoot) and this place has adapted it as affomeow as cute! as someone who does not speak Spanish and is generally quite naiw about mexiko, I was also delighted with the other drinks. there was something called egipcio' (Egyptian) coffee. my friend got this, but he said it was delicious. chocolate has a lot of meaning in the Mexican/Mayan history, so it was cool to see unique drinks like this on the menu. in asia, most drinks simply consist of different tea taste and common coffee drinks. they serve to put them in the caffe to see the cats in the ground. it is the same here, but the prices are much better in mexiko than in asia. more creative menu items were the chocolate menu. each article is named after another cat breed. items in the menu are bombay (chocolate,) bengali (cardomom,) burmese (chai,) siamese (cinnamon, mau (mint,) and persian (white chocolate.) all in all, for a cat café I was very impressed by the menu. there are also many have been in caffe for them to buy like poster, coffee mug, cat-shaped cookies, warming, key chain, etc. when I went, there were dia de los muertos decorations around the caffe because I went near the holiday. very charming place! no real complaints here about my visit. it is cleaner than most other places where I was in tijuana, and all decorations have much thought in them. in any case they go here if they are a cat person and have the opportunity!
