Baudean's Seafood Restaurant And Bar

This is, without a doubt, the worst seafood experience I have ever had. I visited two weeks ago, and the old frozen shrimp I was served were mushy and had a terrible smell. The crab was overcooked to the point of being dry and unappetizing. The only bright spot was the super nice young waitress, and I truly felt sorry for her; she deserves to work at a better restaurant. I can assure you this place is not locally owned. I usually don’t take the time to leave a negative review after just one visit, but the quality of food considering the prices charged is simply unacceptable.

The restaurant seems to have some staffing challenges. Our server was excellent, but the other two staff members appeared to be less engaged. She was busy attending to all the tables while they mostly stood around. On the positive side, the gumbo was outstanding. The seafood salad, which included crab and shrimp, would have been fantastic if it weren't for the excessive shell fragments in the crab; nearly every bite had some shell in it. However, the ingredients were fresh, and the portion size was generous. The total for two salads, a bowl of gumbo, and two Diet Cokes came to $72 including tip.

Wonderful experience! Excellent service! Delicious food with huge servings! And the picture was taken AFTER I had eaten myself full.

I wouldn't recommend spending your time at this restaurant. I gave it multiple chances, hoping they were just having off days. However, the manager's attitude is detrimental to the place. She clearly doesn't understand what good customer service is and has a dismissive demeanor; if you don't like it, you can just leave. The food is below average. We're on the Gulf Coast—why isn't the shrimp fresh from the area? And why are the mashed potatoes from a box? The prices are inflated, and the portions are very small. If you're considering this restaurant, you might want to think twice.

3.75 Place was clean. Service was extremely slow, over an hour for royal reds and crab claws and my wife?s shrimp meal. Crab Claws $42 for a 1/2lb don?t mind paying it if you can eat all the meat of the claws. Good flavor but over done. $39 for a pound of Royal Reds. All over done, all hard to peel again flavor was good just over cooked. Don?t mind paying for good food but my portion of the meal was not worth $70. My wife?s $42 meal was not memorable.
