At lunch we had the bratkartofflen with pork cordon bleu it took a while to prepare, but was delicious! So next day we decided to go back...for our last evening meal at Alona Beach, only be disappointed even though we ordered the same, and waited very long, the potatoes were half raw and pork not very nice. The spaghetti bolognese (or was it with meat sauce? was more like spaghetti with ketchup and tiny lumps of beef. They have ice cream, and for once on a holiday destination the freezer was so cold the ice was actually, well, icy cold perfect. Prices were reasonable, even for wine.
We visited this bar for drinks on our first afternoon in Alona Beach. The prices were very reasonable and the bar was located right on the sea front, offering beautiful views. We ordered a large bottle (1 liter) of Red Horse for just psp100, which was a little over £1. We returned in the evening for food, as the menu featured a variety of local dishes at good prices. We tried the sweet and sour fish fillet, which was delicious. During our meal, a local band began playing, and they were fantastic compared to other bands in the area. Just a heads up, rice is not included with meals and must be ordered separately, but it is very affordable. We also found out that rum and coke was buy one get one free for just php70 (£1) which was a great deal. We returned on other evenings to enjoy cheap drinks, people watch, and listen to the band.
Best food i ate in the Philippines and not expensive. It is located on the beach. 1 litre beer for Only 100 peso
We stopped here because they had very reasonable beer prices. My wife had spaghetti carbonera which was very nice tasty but my crispy noodles were overcooked too crispy, hardly absorbed the sauce. Later, same day, with friends had pork spring rolls they...were oversalted overcooked, almost burnt. Not sure what was going on but after that, only came back for drinks. While there did see crispy noodles on another table they looked like they were cooked properly, assume a different chef. The service was friendly they were busy most of the time. You could stop for a beverage watch what comes out, then decide if you want to order food.
My family and I dined at this restaurant a few nights ago and we will not be returning. The service was terrible and the portions were small. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food, which was overpriced for what we received. It is baffling how the manager/owner operates the restaurant in this way, as it has great potential. The location is ideal with a lot of foot traffic, but it seems like they are more focused on making as much money as possible and don't care about customer satisfaction. This is possibly one of the worst managed restaurants I have ever experienced.
