Indian Zaika Restaurant - Swan Hill

We had a great dinner at this restaurant last night. The service was good and the food was excellent. We ordered XIAO Long Bao, pork and chive dumplings, Ma po Tofu, steamed rice, and white wine.

We decided to give it another try and, although it was an improvement from our last visit, it is clear that they have a different chef, new recipes, or new ingredients.

The food was incredibly tasty and visually appealing, which overshadowed any shortcomings.

Dined here recently with friends and was quite disappointed. The decor feels very much like a takeaway shop where they don't really expect anyone to dine in. Meals were just ok. Flavours were very mild in all of our dishes even though one member of our party had requested a hot curry. Papadums are straight out of a packet & the vegetables are the frozen variety. Prices for a main were around the $13 mark so thankfully our average meals weren't terribly overpriced, but I still wouldn't bother dining here again. In my opinion, Java Spice does a far superior curry in far nicer surrounds.

We visited this restaurant on a quiet Monday night and we were the only guests in the place, never the less the food was as good as I've eaten in any Indian restaurant. Service was polite and prompt. I would recommend this restaurant.
