Le Metamorfosi Closed - SULMONA

Stayed in Massimo's Albergo for five weeks when attending an intensive. While the rooms are simple, they are clean! Massimo's hospitality really overwhelmed us all. His buffet lunches were huge and included vegetarian options... Way more than a human can eat! And his suppers were as expansive! I am a great spaghetti carbonara fan, and his use of guanchale instead of prosciutto was awesome! We all had a great stay there and enjoyed his massive warm self every day!

People who don't want to talk to their dinner companions can watch what's projected on the wall. We chose to talk instead and tried to ignore the sci-fi disaster flick. Service was good but the food was only fair. Nothing memorable.

We first ate here a two years ago and Massimo said it was named metamorfosi because you went in thin and came out fat! Nothing has changed , the food is still fantastic and great value for money. Everything is fresh and cooked to order .

Loved the fish here, needed some help with out italian though. Expect to wait, it takes time to cook but at least you know it's fresh

We arrived at 8.30pm, after 10mins we got to order. We ordered 2 courses each. After very very lengthy waits they brought one dish at a time so we got to sit watch each other eat. I got my starter 20 minutes AFTER I got my main. Service was terrible and no rationale for long delays. We escaped almost 3 hours later.
