Hugo's Studio City

The entire experience was quite bland. We ordered three entrees: the chicken club, potted chicken, and roasted chicken with artichokes, and all were rather tasteless. The French fries were lukewarm, and the sauces were unappetizing, as they sat on overcooked meat. It felt more like a 1960s diner; this atmosphere may appeal to some, but not to me. The highlight of the meal was the hibiscus Bellini, along with a decent Golden Colorado beer and a good glass of red wine. Connor did his best, but after a thirty-minute drive based on a friend's recommendation, I won't be returning.

I requested a quiet table, but ended up sitting behind the server station next to a loud party of ten. The noise from both sides made for an unpleasant dining experience. As for the food, it lacked flavor and the portions were small, especially for $19. The Eggs Benedict I ordered came with undercooked beans, and it was a disappointment. My partner received the wrong bread, and we were done eating before the correct gluten-free option arrived, which was also bland. The additional costs for "add-ons" were unusually high, and I found it frustrating that they tacked on a "3% service charge" for those who do not want to contribute to their employees' wages. This felt both offensive and like a poor business decision for something we did not even request. They should reconsider this practice—it costs them more in the long run. Overall, I was not impressed with the overpriced, subpar food and will not be returning.

I ordered an omelette, but it arrived as a scramble with extra ingredients that I didn't ask for. I sent it back to have the omelette replaced, and it came back with the wrong ingredients again. I tried ordering the omelette a third time, and once again, it was completely wrong! Additionally, I've noticed that they include a kitchen tax for the cook on the bill, which seems a bit odd. Overall, the restaurant has a decent menu, but my experience was frustrating because of the three mistakes.

Hugos was a pleasure to brew. the only thing I could change is that while it is clear on a health-conscious amount that has eat this light quality of “healthy” when they know what I mean. it's really good, but I've made healthy eating that they never believe is good for them and for at least what I've chosen, I was pretty aware that it was a healthy choice with every bite. that is said I would still go there absolutely and try something else. it is entirely possible that I have just chosen something that is not entirely satisfactory to my palate. everything looked beautiful. the personal was great.

My son and I have met for lunch at Hugo's Studio City over many years because we enjoy the experience and food. Thank you.
