This was quite simply the best, tastiest sausage roll I have eaten in 45 years! Would definitely go out of my way to return

I don't often go to Nailsworth, but we were here on vacation and I wanted to visit one of my favorite bakeries. Today, my mother and I came for coffee and cake. After ordering two coffees and cake to eat in, we were surprised when my mother's cake was handed to her in a paper bag. I assumed there was a misunderstanding. We went upstairs to sit at a table and were surprised when our coffees were served in takeaway cups instead of regular cups. My cake never arrived, so I had to go ask for it. It also came in a paper bag instead of on a plate. There was no explanation or apology at the till for the way things were served, and the staff seemed hurried and not as friendly as on previous visits. If they were short-staffed or had issues with proper dishes, it would have been nice to have been informed when we ordered or seen a notice at the till. It wasn't the best experience, and now I wish we had gone somewhere else. We had a much better experience at The Kitchen in Minchinhampton yesterday, where we were warmly welcomed. Hobbs, you have tough competition and can definitely improve your service.

Blimey we popped in for a Saturday brunch, we used to come here a lot a few years ago, also wanted to buy some bread. Sat upstairs, along with some other couples and no one came to serve. In the end I went into the bakery to be told you have to order snd collect all yourself before sitting no restaurant service now being offered. I’m ok with that but no where did they tell you, no sign and no menus. When the order was ready they just screamed your name until you appeared in front of them even after I made eye contact the lady continued shouting my name So very rude. It was worse than in a school canteen. We quickly ate a very average bacon bap and left absolutely awful experience I would not recommend this to anyone.

I want to give full credit to the incredibly friendly staff at Hobbs House. They were more than accommodating and fulfilled all of our requests with enthusiasm. Mr. & Mrs. Hobbs, you have an excellent chef on your hands who truly enhances the dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Delightful surroundings, polite and friendly staff, delicious coffee and probably the best Bacon buttie I have ever had in a cafe!! Well worth a visit
