Area Two Experimental Brewing

We had a great time. Had a small gathering there and it was perfect. Enjoyed the beverages and snacks that we brought. Vary accommodating. Will be back.

Area Two Experimental Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Stratford, Connecticut in March 2019. It was founded by business partners Brad Hittle, brewmaster Phil Markowski, Clement Pellani and Peter Doering. The brewing facility is actually an extension of Two Roads Brewing Company which opened in December 2012. As business began to grow, the partners decided to open a new facility next door to the main building where the focus would be put exclusively on more innovative beers such as barrel-aged beers, sours and various fruited styles. The 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility only accounts for roughly 7% of the volume brewed annually at the main brewery, but the beers are distributed on a national scale. I recently rode my bicycle down to the Two Roads campus. It 's a 30-mile trek from my house so I was very thirsty. I went to the main brewery first for a beer flight, headed across the street to grab lunch at a local pizzeria, and then headed back to the campus to visit Area Two. It 's just a short walk from the main building; you 'll pass their outdoor Hop Yard on the way. I had first visited Area Two not long after they first opened in 2019. This was my first time back. It 's a very impressive facility with a beautiful interior. After looking over the draught list, I decided to order a sampler flight which consisted of Okie Dokie Smokie (Rauchbier), Pineapple Super Diesel (Hazy Hemp IPA), Wild Hazy IPA (Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA brewed with Brett Trois yeast), Twoquila (Tequila Barrel-Aged Fruited Gose), and Europa (Belgian Flanders Red Ale Aged in French Red Wine Barrels with Modena Balsamic Vinegar). I enjoyed my flight on their beautiful outdoor rooftop deck. All of the beers were excellent, but the last one was my favorite! I look forward to trying more of Area Two 's innovative offerings in the future.

We sampled the new Two Roads vodka and gin in their cocktails, and they were excellent! We really enjoyed the open windows in area two, and we will definitely be returning.

Fantastic beers and an appealing atmosphere! Everything we tried was delicious, and they offer some truly unique brews.
