Salerno's - Stratford

I've always enjoyed Salerno's. I love the ambiance of a place that seems like it hasn't changed in decades. The Pizza is pretty good as well. They are famous for their fresh tomato pies in the summer and they are pretty good. Not my favorite topping but I give them high marks for doing it so well. Love the people here also. It's just a great spot that I should get to more often.

Excellent A-Beets !!! We won't go anywhere else for out pizza even though we have to drive from Bridgeport to get it .. It's the best place for all things to eat .. jumbo calzones, pasta dishes, grinders and even their seafood dishes are delicious !!!

Finally Salerno's dining room has reopened. Today I stopped by right at 4 when they opened. I've been dreaming of their baked lasagna, meatballs and their homemade chicken soup. First and only bad thing...no soups. Hopefully they'll bring them back soon. They offer a salad or side of pasta with each entree...so I got the salad. The lasagna came out bubbling and it's as good if not better than in my dreams. I would say their lasagna is the best in the whole state of Connecticut. I ordered a side of meatballs which were amazing too. They are best in the state too. I have to mention this restaurant has always made their own cheeses too. Everything is made from scratch. You can't go wrong with anything here...it's all completely amazing and delicious. So if your hungry for authentic Italian cuisine come and try Salerno's. Thanks to Carlo Salerno for keeping everything the same... excellent!!!! P.s. The waitress with the purple-ish hair was awesome too. Thanks for the great service!!!!

Excellent , homemade, incredible food! I love this restaurant, been going for at least 30 years. I stress the word : HOMEMADE.!!!!!!!!! And a huge grateful thank you to Carlo for being a good human and running a honest establishment.

I have been a loyal customer for years and have always adored this iconic restaurant. However, tonight's experience was disappointing. We went for dinner since they reopened for indoor dining, but the service was, to put it mildly, terrible. The waitresses were extremely rude, and the food did not meet expectations. We actually ended up canceling one of our meals—a simple chicken Parmesan—after we were informed there was no eggplant available. It took an unusually long time for our food to arrive, and the rest of our group had already finished eating after waiting nearly an hour, despite the fact that we were the only table in the restaurant. It was strange that they didn’t even have eggplant for the eggplant Parmesan. Beyond the poor food quality, the service was shockingly bad. I am genuinely saddened by this experience, as I truly loved this restaurant and sadly will not be returning.
