Smugglers Inn - Strabane

I made a reservation through their Facebook page which was confirmed, a few days later I received a message from a stranger on Messenger telling me to call the restaurant. When I called, I was informed that my table had been cancelled in favor of a booking for a funeral. There was no apology or offer to reschedule. When I asked if this was normal practice, the person on the phone said it wasn't, but they couldn't turn down the business. It seemed they valued a funeral booking over a table of 4. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service was appalling. Based on this experience and other negative reviews, I believe I dodged a bullet by not dining at this establishment. First impressions are important and this place does not deserve a second chance in my opinion.

I visited this restaurant recently and found the food to be decent, but the service was lacking. I reached out later to make a reservation for Christmas and was informed that the table was already booked, but I could secure it with a deposit. I agreed to do so on my day off. However, a few days later I received a message stating that the table had been given to someone else and was no longer available. I called the restaurant and when I expressed my disappointment with their customer service, the owner abruptly hung up on me.

My family recently visited Smugglers Bar and Bistro for a funeral reception and we were extremely pleased with the service we received. The food was delicious and served by attentive and professional staff. They handled our early arrival with ease and made us feel very welcome. We highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, as we have also had a great dinner experience there before.

Hi we went for dinner . It was terrible I ordered tagatelli and it full of oil. Disgusting . And breast of chicken dry bland . Order was mixed up we got stuff we didn't order and was charged for it ..Staff not really professional . Terrible all.over would not recommend.
