The River House - STOWE

This is an absolutely beautiful facility in stowe wt. the check-in was easy with the owner who was incredibly helpful and friendly late in the evening. the chef was helpful and friendly. as a travel sister, I received recommendations from the owner for the rooms to ask this would be quieter and away from the truppet that is to be known as a nurse. absolutely stunning house and bar/restaurant. I will come back 100%, thank you!

This place is simply awful. It is a beautiful old building, but don't be fooled by the outside of it, or by the pictures that must have been taken many years ago! We checked in here but chose not to stay after we had a look at the room: absolutely filthy and stained pull-out couch that my 4 year old was supposed to sleep on (which was not made up with sheets though it should have been); chunks of food including peanuts with mice droppings under the beds; big dark stains on the sheets; dust everywhere; the window unit Air conditioners in both rooms did not blow cold air which was important since we were there in August; the tub did not drain, etc etc. I could go on and on. On the evening of our reservation we checked in and took possession of the key, but after seeing the room we chose to leave at 7 pm and drive 4 hours back home with my 4 year old and 80 year old parents. That's how bad it was. Don't stay here. Especially if you actually want to enjoy your vacation in Vermont. I imagine they will go bankrupt soon anyway.

It was a weird vibe. We were the only people there on a Saturday night. Things on the menu were not available. Menu not even close to what was on line. Burger was ok but not done rare per my request. Very limited beer menu. Will never return

Should have taken care of when this was the only place in the city without waiting. when we entered a holiday at 18:00, the place was completely empty. the poutine was only microwave frits with half-melted cheese and canned heavy and my mac and cheese could have been power. overall stranger place and would not recommend.

29. januar 2022— this is the absolute worst restaurant we have ever eaten! we looked at the menu before we left, and it sounded like what we were looking for, but when we arrived there, the menu did not exist! what they had very few things and we should have known something because there was only one other table with people. the service was just as bad to really feel bad on the waitress. she was unclear! I had a steak and my man had a hamburger; A beautiful looking restaurant but sure will close soon or must major changes! stop!
