Trapp Family Lodge Dining Room - STOWE

We didn't stay here. Just visited the gift shops in the Lodge and the outdoor center where you can buy a day pass if you wish to bike or hike the extensive grounds here. The Lodge we visited many years ago, so it is far from new however looks very well maintained. The restaurant downstairs looked very nice and we would have considered eating lunch there if we hadn't already eaten a short time before visiting. You can buy many different souvenirs in both gift shops including The Sound of Music movie and sound track as well as cd recordings of the actual Von Trapp Family singing group! Staff were very friendly and helpful around the Lodge and gift shop. Parking was free to visitors just east of the outdoor center which is past the Lodge on the right. Nearby activities: Hiking, skiing, golfing, guided tours. Walkability: Lots of walking trails that require a paid day pass $10 adult) however you can certainly visit the Lodge, outdoor center and restaurant/gift shop without a day pass. Food drinks: Menu looked good.

Beautiful location rooms were spotless and very cozy. Check in was 4 pm but the room wasn't ready to close to 5pm. Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 5

This was a magical place! Growing up with the Sound of Music just made this come to life. Definitely do a tour and explore the grounds. My only regret is not staying longer, but hey, never know if I'll be back with more family! ; Rooms: We stayed in the family suite. I took my mom, husband, and 2 littles, and it was a perfect layout for just that : Noteworthy details: A great coffee house on site and we regret not eating at the restaurant Rooms: 5

Great experience here all around. Food, service, and room. I nice spot in the country to relax. The beers from the brewery are also very good. My favorites were the weiss beer and Bohemian Pilsner. Pretzel sandwich brat at the brewery was really tasty, and the schnitzel was my favorite in the restaurant. Food drinks: Food was the best overall that we have had while traveling in the northeast this trip. I don’t normally eat baked goods, but everyone I ate here was very good. The beers from the brewery were also very good. Definitely stop in at the brewery and get a beer and a pretzel brat sandwich. Try their salads too. Cucumber, carrot , coleslaw are also worth trying.
