Zack's Grille - Stonington

I found his restaurant on Google cards and Yelp reviews, as after an early dinner option for my family (3 children), near the Stonington High School football field after a game. The location is inconvenient and is in a strange place you can easily miss unless you know it is there. From the outside it looks like a small holiday home, but once inside it has the feeling of a friendly local pub. When we opened the door, we entered a bar area that included a football match and a golf tournament as well as a small but comfortable dining area. We came in a strange hour (about 4:00) when the restaurant was not busy. The hostess was friendly and set us fast. The timing of our meal meant that appetizers and soups were halfway away for happy hour. We shared a very tasty roasted Calamari appetizer for the table, and two of us ordered Clam-Chowder that was pretty good. The Calamari was fresh, slightly broken and tasteful. I will definitely order it again. My son and husband ordered the child and the adult size shares of fish and chips that were both huge and enjoyed. I had a French dip and potato salad. My daughter had a pasta for children they enjoyed and my other son had a burger. Our server was professional, friendly and timely during our meal. Overall, staff was attentive and excellent, and the price is very reasonable, especially given the quality of food. We're definitely going back! Thank you.

Zacks is a hidden treasure in Stonington. Great food, fantastic service and cheap prices. The dark wood atmosphere offers the feeling of an old hidden secret place. The locals know Zach's and boaters just about the trails on foot to avoid the two hours waiting for Dog Watch. My favourite place for dinner!

Stopped after a day of kayaking on Barn Island. I had the ****. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Very attentive. I will definitely return and highly recommend.

By far my favorite cozy place to eat, hang and feel completely at home. Every bite is excellent. The kind of staff that your drink knows and brings it to you without asking. Love it!!

Love this place. Great food and wonderful staff. I love the scallops wrapped in bacon. The special are always great and they have delicious desserts.
