Contribuiți la feedbackIf you want a good feed of Chinese food, this place is good. Never had eat in....always had take out and it didn't disappoint. As i said, it's worth the visit if you are in that part of town.
We do a bi-annual take out from this restaurant and the food is outstanding! The best we have ever had! I would recommend for sure!
Living in Toronto where there are 2 distinct and vibrant Chinatowns, my husband and I have eaten our fair share of Chinese cuisine our 5+ decades. Lots of it. We've done dine in, takeout, delivery, buffet - you name it, we've had it. And different styles including dim sum, Szechuan, Cantonese, Hakka, etc.We were hesitant to eat Chinese in this city but decided to try it anyway based on reviews. The food at his place was SO bland and the same vegetables were repeatedly used in all the dishes we ordered. All the veggies were limp and lifeless. No crunch whatsoever. The ginger beef, supposedly a specialty, was pathetic. There were ZERO pieces of identifiable real ginger. The sauce did not cling to it but rather, pooled below in the form of some liquidy brown stuff in the bottom of the container. Tasteless. And this was Szechuan? Uhh, no - not so much - not at all.The honey garlic ribs were neither honey nor garlic. These little morsels should have a nice thick sauce clinging to them and turning them a deep brown colour. Again, the sauce was a tasteless liquidy something on the bottom. I tried to improve the taste with soy and plum sauce (all I had as we were in a hotel), but to no avail. The meat looked boiled and unappetizing. If you've ever had fantastic Cantonese chow mein, you'll know to expect a crispy fried portion of noodles with an array of veggies, large assorted slices of BBQ pork, chicken and beef and some decent sized shrimp and squid. Considering this city is right by the ocean, the seafood in this dish was microscopic. Tiny salad shrimp at best and no squid. And they used CANNED mushrooms in it - UGH.The only thing I could stomach was the steamed rice - and it's hard to screw THAT up- and a little bit of the over cooked noodles from the Cantonese chow mein. And the place was empty which also tells you something. We had called in the order and went to pick it up. Had I walked in before ordering and had seen that, I would have walked right out.We were both disappointed and were left very unsatisfied and hungry.Oh and as an aside, they don't have disposable chopsticks for your order and not even real ones in the restaurant. What?!! Come on! That's part of the whole experience. Fair warning - it's a cash only joint. I hate that. It's 2016. Get with the program.Bottom line, trust a well seasoned (no pun intended), foodie - don't waste your money or your palate.
It's definitely best prices and best value for chinese in the city. Food is always fresh. I have see. A few reviews on rudeness but I feel that's more language barrier. The son of owners is quite pleasant and very fluent in English. But I never experience anything terrible. It is cash only but you know that ahead a time it's not a big deal and they will give you total of order when you call
The service was quick and friendly. Ordered a simple Combination Platter and the chicken balls, as well as the soo guy, were great. The gravy was nice. The rice, however, was really dry. A huge selling point for me is that they never use MSG.
