Central Tavern Springfield Lakes

Very nice venue and good service on the occasions we have dined at this venue. The food however is very ordinary and not what we were expecting from the description on the menu. We both felt disappointed upon leaving after two visits and probably wont go there again.

This is Springfield trying no to be ipswich, and for a Tavern one expects good TAVERN MENU AND SUPER FOOD. To get there is a nightmare with the phone finding the way into the place. The developer sure made a profit on the roads being so narrow... Don 't try to pass a bus. The service was average. The food was equal to the service. It was good for a business meeting. Get in, Get out. Chips were luke warm and cooked when i was born. Steal was raw when i asked for very well done... That is very well done OK I DIDN 'T EAT IT. The operation was a success, the Patient died.... Chefs have THEIR TASTE... I CAN ORDER MY TASTE... Obviously the cook didn 't like the way i eat meat. i prefer it DEAD.. NOT MOOOOOING AT ME.

We have been regulars at this tavern for years, but after the last few visits, we have decided not to return for a while. The staff at the bar are very friendly, but the meals that are served are of extremely poor quality (if they come out at all). On a recent visit (Father's Day), three meals were ordered. Two steaks were served quickly but were small, with soggy chips and cold gravy. The third meal, ordered by my wife, did not come out at all. When we inquired, we were told it was a pizza and was taking longer. However, after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the staff returned and said that no pizza had actually been ordered (although we had proof of payment on the receipt). The staff then admitted that the kitchen did not receive the order, so we received a refund and left. This was the quickest meal we have ever had there, and instead of enjoying four or five beers, I only had one. The service from the kitchen leaves much to be desired, and if they continue to provide poor service, they will lose customers quickly.

Awful! Despite previous concerns about the poor food quality, I decided to meet up with friends for a catch-up at this restaurant. We each ordered a glass of wine, only to be informed that there were no clean wine glasses available and we would have to wait. After waiting for 30 minutes at the bar, we were finally given dirty glasses, but we accepted them out of impatience. The waitress treated us poorly, as if the situation was our fault. We should have left then, but stayed and ordered pizza. When the pizza arrived, it was a soggy, microwaved mess with lukewarm cheese for $24. By 8:30 pm, we asked for one of the outdoor heaters to be turned on, but none of the 8 heaters worked due to empty gas tanks. I will never return to this incompetent venue. Absolutely disgusted.

We were disappointed to find that our jug of ice took up most of the space meant for lemonade. The same problem occurred with our alcoholic drinks, as they were also served with excessive ice. Although the ice was removed upon request, some family members ended up with a glass or jug full of ice because they forgot to ask. The restaurant used to have a charming family atmosphere with an ice cream machine and games for children, but these have since been removed. There is still a small play area for young children, which is nice. We were surprised to see how empty the restaurant was on a Friday night, as it is a local favorite for us. We hope that business picks up and things return to normal soon.
