Contribuiți la feedbackWe have here for lunch in november 2022, overall very tired looking, eating was satisfactory, but not amazing, personal were friendly, but not overwhelming in their talks when asked about the restaurant and area. will not return to haste
The location and outlook are excellent, eating is delicious, and the staff is friendly and professional. this is my favorite place in the clare valley.
We have been in skillogalee for over 17 years and are always one of our favorite destinations. So, in the opposite we booked and went there today. the first impressions were favorable: we were pleasantly greeted and shown to. our table, asked what water we want and presented with the menus. this was our first disappointment when instead of being presented beautifully, as one would expect from a prestige restaurant, they were just a4 leaf green paper with eating on one side and weep on the other side. we have selected both two entrées: my wife was asked if she would give her pigglock as the main size on a Entrée platter that would give five pieces pigs instead of three what she accepted. my karamellized tweebel bruschetta with burned feigen and brie was absolutely delicious, but the chorizo was a little dry and after my opinion) needed a relish of a kind to improve it. my wife drunk garnel and black bell were acceptable, but nothing special. However, when we got the bill, there was an "Open Item" of $28: when we frightened, we were told that it was a standard fee for changing a teller on the menu. since all we had done was the pork belly escape $23) in a main by adding two additional pieces pork we felt that the additional fee was exaggerated. after 17 years it is unlikely that we will come back.
What an absolutely idyllic setting for the outdoor/verandah/garden/low tree. 11/10 for this aspekt safe! the service was efficient enough, but was not so polished and it felt as if we simply walk through the movements, instead of feeling from the team that provides the beautiful environment and the building itself quiet and effortlessly. we shared a washboard (amazing pate,! a cheeseboard and a serving of hateback beetroot. the beet was phenomenal! it was a big surprise, as we ordered it just like a “filler”, as we thought we needed another “small thing” to fill us, but it was actually the highlight! the cheese board has unfortunately done nothing to inspire each of us four at all, and had no “imaginative” component, so it was just a magnifier without being different to any other cellar door cheese plate we ever had. we ate as we were hungry not because the cheese was good at all! the energy would have been better used for the dedication of a few more plates from this brilliant beet. a few times after we drove back to the place and joked each other: "let's join for some more beetroot!"
Got a late lunch booking on a very rainy Sunday. Shared a starter of dips and bread. Dips were home made and were so different from the bought variety. Two of the party ordered the lamb with a side of potatoes. The purée of arrow...and apricot was perfect with the lamb. Clean plates all round. We shared the lemon tart and berry Mille feuille . Perfect end to a delicious meal.
