Pictures are very deceiving
Very clean and nice people working here. The bar/food area was good as well. Loved the location. They provide shuttle service to nearby restaurants.
We arrived late from trip to Europe and were exhausted. The shuttle picked us up at SF airport and we arrived quickly...PS shuttle stops running after 10:30 PM so plan ahead. The reservation went very smoothly and accommodations were well received. The staff here are better than best and were very helpful. The room was quite nice and beds were very comfortable. We woke up early for breakfast and went for a quick walk around the water out back behind the building...super nice and refreshing. We will make sure to stay here on another visit when in the area.
After having stayed here a few times with an adequate stay, I looked up prices for our February Tuesday night overnight before flying to Florida for our Cuba cruise. All the local Marriott hotels were outrageously expensive. As a platinum Premier elite, I decided to use our free cert to stay at this property. Free parking and decent rooms. All went well at check-in. Pleasant receptionist, upgrade to a suite , then a pleasant cocktail hour and dinner at the Bistro . Then we returned to our room, watched some hulu, and then went to bed. Suddenly the phone rang. I jumped up, took out my ear plugs (we snore), and answered. The lady on the phone informed us that our TV was disturbing other guests and that we should turn it down. Her name was Melissa. I informed her that we were in bed and not watching TV. Then she told us to not talk so loudly. I again informed her that we were asleep in bed and that as a Platinum member I did not appreciate her accusation. From there it went south. She told me that she had gotten a complaint and her job was to call all the neighbors up, down, left, and right. As I kept telling her she was unprofessional, she kept escalating and getting louder. Even when I explained that as a customer service agent she should de escalate the situation rather than inflame it, she got louder and more inappropriate. She would not even let me speak with a supervisor. After going back to bed, my message light went on. I got back up to respond and was told by the agent, not Melissa, to hold on, then was told to disregard it. After getting back to bed within 15 seconds the phone rang again. When I answered to response after many hellos on my side. Now I had it. I called the elite line and asked for a nearby room. I was told that I could not get my cert transferred and that the closest room available was at $1000 for the night. Or I could use points. I decided to use suck it up and use the points. We got a room at the Marriott SF Airport . Well it 's not the SF Marriott where we have stayed many times, but by the San Mateo Bridge. It seems to be a love new property. We are at the bar there which is filled by very loud women cackling and drinking. What irony! We were chastised for being loud while sleeping! Never again!
If business bring you here, it's a solid run-of-the-mill hotel. Nothing extraordinary, and nothing wrong with, per say. Allow me to elaborate. Positives: free airport shuttle to/from SFO if are you driving, free parking smallish hotel nice little cafe on premises comfortable rooms free Internet along a small body of water, Oyster Point 3.5 mile jogging/walking trail 24 hour fitness facility Negatives: not good dining choices, whether local walking or nearby. Foodies beware! rooms are a bit outdated. Not deluxe in anyway. Conclusion: For business around the area, this is my 4th or 5th choice of hotel. For personal, there's nothing much around. It's 10+ miles from downtown San Francisco, so if you plan to spend most of your time there, I'd look for a hotel closer.
