Subway - South Portland

The service was incredibly fast and efficient. There was a group of six ahead of me, but I didn’t have to wait more than five minutes. The staff were amazing—super friendly and helpful. The store was clean as well.

UPDATED AS OF MARCH 13, 2021: I'm revising my previous 2-star review. I'm not sure if there's been a change in management or if the less-than-stellar staff members are no longer there, but this place has improved tremendously compared to a year ago! The staff is now friendly and efficient, and they all seem to adhere to good COVID-19 safety measures. I've never noticed anyone being lax about it. For context, I visit very frequently (about every other day) since I live just a 4-minute walk away.

The food was quite tasty. Fortunately, the indifferent employee who put together the sandwich didn't affect the flavor of the ingredients. However, when I bought the foot-long sandwich, there were 3 inches on each side that had no vegetables at all. My raised eyebrows and an unimpressed "ooo-kay..." didn't seem to register with them. I requested more veggies, but they just ended up piled in the center of the sandwich. Honestly, it was amusing to watch.

I had a wonderful experience during my visit today! I absolutely loved the new spicy Chipotle sauce. Although the staff on duty were new to me, they provided outstanding service. I ordered brewed iced tea, but unfortunately, it was unsweetened. Come on, Subway Corporate Office, please consider providing some sugar for the tea! Additionally, both soda fountains were out of Cherry Coke, which I suspect is due to them being linked to the same keg. Nevertheless, this Subway consistently offers top-notch service.

I visited Panera first, but they had already closed 30 minutes early while there were still customers inside. So, I headed down the street to Subway and walked in just 15 minutes before closing time. I usually dislike being that person, but I was warmly greeted by a lovely staff member named Ashley. She was friendly, understanding, and did not mind that I came in just before closing. Thank you, Ashley, for providing such excellent customer service!
