Wow!! Spicy, fresh, real southern-style cooking. So very happy I stopped by today. Jerk beef and chicken were stellar, and the BBQ chicken was a scrumptious, sweeter counterpoint. I’m a fan of collards and yams. The collards were not from a can, and the yams were beautifully seasoned and could easily double as dessert. Very friendly service, too. Skip the chain food and try this place!
All the other lines were super busy, so we gave them a try as they had no line. it was delicious! the BBQ chicken fell out of the bone and was very juicy. the sauce was beautiful and sweet, so my 4 years old loved it. he identified which objects were gluten-free as my child liked a sensitive and identified the not sharp desires. After we made our order, he asked if it were in order to give sweetness to my child. great food and great service. people should try.
I first became aware of this place through a Yelp Elite promotion, but not everyone gets to see those. And it wasn't just free food and I'm out... I'm a lifelong customer now. Martin runs the place with his family, and he couldn't be a nicer guy! ...and when you get family business right it can last for generations. When you taste the food you will know why. It's undoubtedly fresh, and the richness in the mac and the rice send you to heaven! I did not know rice could be so good. The mac is award winning and when you taste it you'll know why. I've been known to be picky about my mac, but this ranks up there in the top three I've ever had. The jerk chicken is amazing. Moist and the seasoning on point! It may look a bit like a catering mess hall when you walk up to this place in the food court, but for the life of me I can't understand how Panda Express has a line of a dozen people and Soul Food Paradise had not a soul. I believe they would prosper at a brick and mortar establishment because this is the type of food that makes you want to sit with family, friends, and good conversation in an intimate atmosphere. They deserve better than a food court! I'm not out this way often but whenever I am, I make a point to stop by. Thanks Martin!
Got the fried chicken, collard greens and Mac n cheese. Collard greens were the best we have had, better than ones we have had in the South. The fried chicken was so good. Sat in my room go container , then the fridge and then microwaved it. It was still crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Seasoning was on point!
