Modan Artisanal Ramen - South Pasadena

The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was delicious, and the broth was simply outstanding! I will definitely be returning.

I was pleasantly surprised by their poke ramen. The noodles include kale and are more similar to soba noodles. They cook the noodles perfectly, ensuring they are firm and have a fantastic texture. I can't stand soggy, overcooked noodles, so I really appreciated how great these were. The dish comes with salmon and tuna poke, along with kabocha pumpkin chips. The kale chips also added a nice flavor and texture. Although it was difficult to choose cold noodles on a chilly day instead of traditional ramen, I’m glad I did—it was definitely worth it. Our server was friendly and attentive, and our food arrived very quickly. We left as very happy customers.

The ramen here is quite impressive. We tried both the regular tonkotsu and the black tonkotsu, and both were rich and full of flavor. The service was also commendable. However, the only drawback is the lack of on-site bathrooms. I had to use the restroom at Bristol Farms across the parking lot. It's not a long walk, but it's still a hassle when a restaurant doesn't have its own facilities.

Fantastic ramen! Came with the family and were seated promptly. The place fills up quickly. We ordered a variety of ramen, nearly one of each offered. Also, a poke salad, fried green beans, and gyoza. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned very nicely. The service was attentive and the environment was clean. It was a great first time ramen eating experience for my mom. She loved it. Highly recommend : and will definitely be back.
