They are excellent. Fresh, thick, crisp on the outside fluffy in the inside. In addition we got a burger and the bbq. The burger was fresh and hot, totally serviceable. The pork bbq is smoked out back and was likewise fresh and hot, though the bbq sauce could maybe have used a bit more complexity in the sauce. Check this place out, to say it's a hidden gem is to understate the case.
Hidden gem, French fries are super crispy and tasty with sea salt on them. Best fries I've had in the area, over Archie's even. Patty melt was made from scratch with great ingredients and just hits home. Just a soul food type of joint and they make their own soups too. Had a great Cajun sausage soup that you could tell was home made.
This place is truly a hidden gem. I don't love writing reviews, but I feel an almost moral obligation to try to get the word out on this place. I've been here on two occasions so far; the first time, I got the reuben with fries (at a friend's insistent behest , the second time the deep fried breakfast burrito. The reuben was...world-class. I don't know how else to describe it. It was everything a reuben should be: savory, crispy buttery bread, and that important tang of the sauerkraut. I won't say what I really feel about the fries, because I might lose all credibility given the hyperbole I would heap on them. An A+ lunch. About a month later, I got the breakfast burrito. Molten cheese poured out, and I was a happy man. In an area with a distinct lack of breakfast burrito options (what's the deal with that, Vermont? , this is one of two places I'll even try to get one anymore. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the only thing keeping you from hearing about this place is its unorthodox location on a strip of 4-lane highway in an unassuming gas station building. Next time you decide to order out for breakfast or lunch, go here. (Edit to add that they have a really cozy indoor restaurant setup with tables, so you don't have to order out, you can eat inside as well.
Where to start? This is exactly the type of place I love a small business run by a BIPOC chef who knows how to throw down. The fare is simple and delicious for breakfast try the burrito, I subbed bacon and it was perfectly textured with the crispy tortilla and stuffed full of egg and bacon side of jalapeños. The turkey club is made with real, shaved turkey! Run don't walk to this place that is keeping it real.
I stopped there recently with my girlfriend and we both had western omelets that were fantastic. Mine was the best omelet I've had in quite a time. The eggs were fluffy and seasoned very well and all of the other ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We ordered directly from the cook who was very friendly, in a cute little dining room that was playing the classics and was so cute, homey, charming and friendly that we've already sworn we would go back. I cannot recommend highly enough.
