I recently had the opportunity to visit Boulevard Seafood Company with another couple. It was the worst dining experience I have had in years. Upon arrival, we were met with an empty hostess stand. After waiting there for nearly 10 minutes, the hostess finally appeared and walked us to our table. We were brought a complimentary plate of corn croquettes, which was nice as the four of us were quite hungry. We perused the menu and placed our orders. Our guests decided to share an order of steamed clams, and my girlfriend and I ordered the Korean BBQ chicken wings. The clams arrived at the table in an adequate amount of time, but the wings took much longer. After our guests had finished their appetizer and an additional 10 minutes had passed, I grabbed the server, Christina, and inquired why it was taking so long. She informed us it was because the restaurant was busy. It should be noted that about half the tables were empty, and the occupied tables were almost exclusively occupied by only two diners each. Another 5 minutes or so passed before the wings showed up, and they looked like they were covered in Buffalo sauce, not Korean BBQ sauce. When I asked the food runner if it was, in fact, Korean BBQ, he replied, “I don’t know, it’s what you ordered.” We couldn’t even finish the wings. They were slimy and disgusting, and we never did quite figure out what the sauce was. It was neither Korean BBQ nor Buffalo. For our main course, the four of us ordered fish tacos, two orders of mussels, and a Yellowfin tuna dish. It seems that the tacos were fine as there was no critique given, and he ate them without any discussion. My Yellowfin was ordered rare but came medium, which would have been just fine except that it was so insanely salty it was difficult to choke down. According to the menu, the mussels come with French fries. They did not accompany the meals when they were delivered to the table. We asked Christina, the server, twice and were told that they were on their way out. The third time we asked, she said that they were out of French fries. When we asked if there was a substitute, she said that she could bring us corn chips. I am sorry, but Fritos do not seem like an adequate replacement for French fries in my opinion. When I asked both parties how the mussels were, I was told, “very okay.” Our displeasure seemed to be met with no apologies and a very “do not disturb” attitude. When the bill came, not one cent was taken off, even though we were not given half of two orders of mussles. Boulevard Seafood Company essentially stole our money. I cannot give them one ounce of grace as they did not even make a veiled attempt at providing a decent meal or hospitable service. Shame on Boulevard Seafood Company.
The kitchen staff ruined our dinner outdoors by poor service Tge waitress was very good. she was powerless to get us our food. The main course was 1 hour 25 minute wait. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Unacceptable. By the time the mid. course arrived, my wife had lost her interest for the food.
I recently visited Boulevard Seafood Company with friends, and it was the worst dining experience I 've had in years. We waited nearly 10 minutes at an empty hostess stand before being seated. Our friends ordered steamed clams, which arrived promptly, while my girlfriend and I ordered Korean BBQ chicken wings. The wings took much longer to arrive, even after our friends had finished their appetizer. When I asked our server, Christina, about the delay, she attributed it to the restaurant being busy, although about half the tables were empty. When the wings finally arrived, they looked like they were covered in Buffalo sauce, not Korean BBQ. The food runner couldn 't confirm what the sauce was, and the wings were slimy and unappetizing. We couldn 't finish them. For our main course, we ordered fish tacos, two orders of mussels, and a Yellowfin tuna dish. The tacos seemed fine, as our friend ate them without complaint. However, my Yellowfin tuna, which I ordered rare, came out medium and was so salty it was hard to eat. The mussels were supposed to come with French fries, but they were missing when the dishes were delivered. We asked Christina about the fries twice and were told they were on their way. The third time we asked, she said they were out of fries and offered us corn chips instead. Fritos do not seem like an adequate replacement for French fries. Throughout our meal, our displeasure was met with no apologies and a very do not disturb attitude from the staff. When the bill came, not a single cent was taken off, despite the issues with our orders and the missing fries for two of the mussels dishes. Boulevard Seafood Company made no effort to provide a decent meal or hospitable service. Our experience was marked by poor service, unappetizing food, and a lack of accountability from the restaurant. They offered no apologies and made no adjustments to the bill. I cannot recommend Boulevard Seafood Company and will not be returning.
Usually the food is very well prepared.....this time not so much..the meal at best was average ........ we will certainly revisit and perhaps this was just a one time thing....... and do NOT sit outside on a warm summer night ... the smell of garbage was awful.... we needed to go inside to complete our meal..... we like this restaurant and hope they just had a very average evening......
