Bay Leaf Grill - Somerset

The quality of the food has drastically declined. We used to order online and dine at this restaurant in person before the pandemic, and the curries were always served in generous portions, bursting with flavor and freshness. However, after placing an online order recently, we received a dish that was nothing but a bowl of grease. We had to pour out half a cup of oil, and even then, the curries were bland and overwhelmingly greasy, leaving a heavy coating on our tongues. The naan was stale, tasting like it had been made several days ago. The mango lassi was mostly liquid, thin, and contained strange brown bits floating in the yogurt. We could barely manage two bites of our meal before realizing it was completely inedible. To make matters worse, my butter chicken was only half the portion size of my partner's chicken saag. The only redeeming aspect was the rice, which was decent. With the curries priced at $16 each and the naan at $5 apiece, I was truly frustrated. The only silver lining was that we ordered through Uber Eats, and after a lengthy exchange with customer support, I was able to secure a partial refund.

Terrible food and an awful experience. I ordered vegetable biryani, but they served me egg biryani instead. When I brought this to their attention, they simply removed the egg but returned the same biryani, which was cold by the time I got it back. We also ordered mirchi bhaji, and that was disappointing as well. I will never return or recommend this place to anyone.

The food was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent, especially the customer service when we ordered takeout. The food was fresh and perfectly seasoned to our preferred spice level. We will definitely be back!

I order from this place once back 6 months ago. pretty good food, decent service. Order again today. told me thirty mins. we came almost 40 mins later. waited another 15 20 mins, while she kept saying 5 mins 5 mins, then 1 min.. and almost 25 30 minutes later they got the entree wrong. Butter Naan is 1 dollar more than regular and they still didn't not put butter on the Naan. Now the food is getting cold while we wait for them to remake our entree. Mind you there are only 2 tables seated currently. Completely Empty on a Friday. Management or something has changed... Not worth the 4.5 stars on Google.

The first time visiting Bayleaf Grill, (About a week ago) October 21. Was very nice.I ordered a chicken curry. I thought it was the chicken merg, but apparently the was the butter chicken of some kind . Which in fact was very good. However, I ordered a mulligatawny soup (big mistake)! So I thought I’d try their tikka dishes, see how they compare. Much to my disappointment the tikka was awful!!. It was so salty I thought I dropped a clanger!!.. to say the least. I was so surprised after having such an enjoyable meal the week before.However I’m not a man of conviction! So I will return for one more try.One other thing that startled me was the fact that the sign for the restaurant is so very small!! What they need to do. Is take down the old sign. And replace it with a correct name for the restaurant!!.
