I’ve eaten here three times. Each time was like eating jerky, except I didn’t order jerky... Twice I had the Lomo Saltaldo 18.99). The first time I figured that something went wrong, since I had heard good things from friends, and read some good reviews. The beef was very tough, dense and very chewy, with gristle. The flavor was decent though, so I figured they just had a bad day. I went back a few weeks later, and tried the same dish again. Shame on me. The beef was tough, chewy and dense again. It was like a disappointing jerky all the chew but not the flavor this time. I think I don’t learn very quickly. After all, my Peruvian friend said it was good. I figured what do I know? So, I had the Saltado chicken. I didn’t know folks made jerky out of chicken too….The salad the meals come with is basically iceberg that is barely visited by some vegetables, dropping in to say a quick, hello. I gave two stars, since I hear it is authentic and I’m trying to be nice, since it’s locally owned. I only gave two stars, since it really isn’t very good and it’s not worth the for what you get.
If you’re seeking authentic Peruvian food then you probably won’t be super happy with it but the overall food quality and taste is very good, it just isn’t authentic Peruvian flavors. The fried rice is very good and offers a large portion size for the price so you can definitely have two meals from this. It’s a self ordering establishment and they are charging more similarly to sit down restaurant prices; spent about $35 on the food for 2 people without drinks.Worth a try if you’re looking to try something different and local but there are cheaper alternatives for similar dishes in the area.
Joined some friends of ours to break bread with the kids in tow and was impressed. Food was outstanding and the service was even better!Food: 5/5
As a Hispanic I really have a taste for Latin Food. I am a Peruvian food Aficionado. Even though the service was excellent and mostly the atmosphere good, this is not a great place for Peruvian food. The Chaufa tastes too much as Ginger. The portions are good, however the prices are a little bit on the high end for this kind of Restaurant. Buen provecho!Vegetarian options: The have the vegetarian Chaufa.
