The atmosphere was excellent, and the lady who served us was friendly, cheerful, and gave us one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in our years here. I would highly recommend not even looking at the menu, as she heard I was vegetarian and produced a wonderful plate of mixed gyoza. I’ll definitely be visiting again as soon as I can!
Came here with some vegan and vegetarian friends. The owner is lovely and the food was delicious. It’s a small joint and everything is made by hand. There is also an English menu but we just asked for a mix. We’ll definitely be back!
I came here searching for a place where to have a proper vegan plate. It was at my birthday, and I didn’t realize this at first, but this was a place I looked for and put on my list to check, so it was a very fortunate encounter. It’s run by an old lady which will ask how hungry you are (as I had read from another reviewer here), in English. She also asks if you’re eating meat, vegetarian or vegan. Afterwards she will point out to some choices, the menu is only in Japanese on the table, detailing the dumplings, which was ok with me as I wanted those. On the wall you can see other dishes, so if you’re feeling like eating something else listed there, you can try asking at the time, especially if you know Japanese well, but I’m sure the owner will not mind at all explaining in English too, with some patience. The dumplings were very tasty, I got a multicolored set, and for me 1000 yen was enough (I saw people lamenting about the price, but for me it seemed ok). The style is homemade, and the place is unfortunately small but still cozy: there are 3 tables with 2 seats each, so if it’s not busy and you have 6 friends or less, it’s perfect to visit. A group came right after which was actually speaking my language, so I explained to them my own experience and recommended the dumplings too. I was hurried a bit but wanted to thank the owner and mention it was a very nice experience to have at my birthday.
I am often mildly concerned about finding the vegetarian or especially vegan options in a place where I may not have enough words in the right language to talk about ingredients. This time, I didn’t have to worry, it could not have been easier! I am vegetarian but will choose vegan options if available, my companion was more interested in meat. The lovely woman in the kitchen greeted us and asked in nearly flawless English if we were looking for vegetarian or vegan dumplings, followed that with how hungry we were to determine the number of dumplings, if we preferred fried or boiled, and asked about what we’d like to drink. We each had a plate of six dumplings (will certainly get more next time! and I don’t actually know exactly what flavors they were, but there were at least three different kinds and since I can be confident that they were all vegan, I don’t really care what was inside. They were delicious. The shop is TINY, seats six and no two chairs next to each other, takeout OK. Looking forward to going back.
Veg dumplings made by super lovely and friendly lady. There aren’t that many restaurants where they serve veg dumplings in Japan, so I was really excited about this place. Due to Covid they only have 4 seats available so I would say call in beforehand. They are also only serving dumplings at the moment. Would love to come back when the regular menu comes back !!
