The Islander - SHELTER ISLAND

Good variety. Quick moving. Cash only. The regulars keep their mugs hanging below the specials board. Many different local beers available. I liked the pancakes and sausage.

This place is a delight. The decor is charming and bright and the menu is excellent. We had omelettes and pancakes and our little one had chicken nuggets and fries. The salads looked super fresh and big, and the burgers did as well. Friendly service and conveniently located in the middle of the island. We will definitely be back. Go here with family, friends, or even alone. Many people got take out while we were there too.

Great place to bring a family, very cozy. Service has always been great never an issue.

The food here is all cooked to order, fresh, hot and delicious! The countergain waitress had the most amazing, vibrant, colorful and positive re-pore with all regular customers and very friendly to total strangers. While we wait for our delicious lunch to be prepared, we learned so much history about Shelter Island, as the population in the summer shwells from 2,500 to 25,000. Apartment costs, taxes, schools and where to buy. All I can say, keep the love and food coming... see soon for one of these huge burger plates!
