High prices for mediocre food. Scallop Gratin was delicious, but expensive at $51 when the part appetizer was size. It came with a side of completely burned bread slices that served nothing else than on the plate without being eaten... no herbal side. The Branzino, who used to be a whole fish, is now half a fillet for twice the price. It came with a small Arugula side salad that instead of olive oil (or vinaigrette) was covered with brown butter sauce. Unbelievable.
It was a wonderful evening at the always charming Vine Street! The oysters were amazing, the Calamari salad was crisp and perfectly dressed. We shared the Chateaubriand for two, with Fritten and Spinat. Everything was cooked for perfection. Had the toffe pudding dessert, which was very tasty and a large bottle petit syrah. Our server, Jessica, was friendly, attentive and wonderful!! There was a young woman who worked at the reception, who was a bit rude when we sat, but we tried not to ruin her bad attitude. All in all, a great night!
We recently visited Vine Street and were pleased to find that the beautiful atmosphere remained consistent. The food was delicious, and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. The only downside was our seating in the main room on a banquet against a wall that led to the kitchen. The constant banging of the kitchen door against my back was quite bothersome and distracting. Despite this issue, we still had a pleasant evening and plan on returning in the future.
After about 10 miles walk in Mashomack Preserve (and a quick change in her restroom), this was an absolute treat! Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and our server was wonderful. The value of their Prix Fixe menu was amazing. I had the oysters and mussels. The representation of the oysters was attractive as the pot of the shells that were divine. My friend had the beet salad and the duck jam. He said it was so tasteful. Next time we visit Shelter Island, this will be a certain stop. Thank you.
My son was home for college break and we decided to head over to Vine Street for a nice meal. It was wonderful. We have never been disappointed at Vine Street. Their service is outstanding and the food is amazing.
