The Terrace Kitchen - Shannon

I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The food was quite good, but the service was rather slow. Upon arriving, I encountered a rude Polish security guard at the door, who didn't inform me about the situation regarding my reservation. I asked to speak with the manager to clarify the issue, as I wanted to show that my reservation should not have been a problem. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was marred by this encounter.

I had reserved a standard table because we were bringing a baby along, and I had also mentioned in advance that we would need a high chair. However, when we arrived, they tried to seat us at a high table, which was impractical with a baby. Fortunately, the manager quickly addressed the issue and found a suitable solution. It seemed that the young staff member didn't realize that a baby would barely be able to see over our knees, and sitting in that location would have put her in the path of servers carrying heavy hot plates.

Fantastic dining experience with exceptional service! I’d give it 5 stars. The staff is incredibly friendly.

Sunday lunch: Unfortunately the restaurant was cold and as a result my mother left her coat on throughout the meal. The starters were great, the beef and Yorkshire pudding was over cooked. The burger was good and my mother enjoyed the fish. The sticky toffee pudding was tough and over sweet, seemed like it was over heated in the microwave. This was our second visit and unfortunately we won’t be going back.
