Spruce Goose - Shannon

We visited Oakwood Arms solely for dining at their restaurant, after reading positive reviews and checking out the online menu. The young host seemed unaware of the Spruce Goose and mistakenly referred to the restaurant as such, but it is actually not named the Spruce Goose.

The Spruce Goose restaurant is located in the Oak Wood Arms Hotel in Shannon. I have to admit I'm normally a person who goes for snacks but now and then I like a good meal and the Spruce Goose is the place to go. The...restaurant itself contributes to the overall occasion. It just looks good. The staff are invariably friendly and courteous and that does help because I'm sure we all remember places where staff were grumpy and unhelpful. Not here. It's wonderful to be pampered for a change. The meal was only magnificent. I wish I was the sort of person who didn't have to watch his weight and could eat three full meals a day. I'd live here if that were so. However, I have never had a bad meal here so compliments to the chef and all the staff who cook and serve the meals. You have one very satisfied customer.

When we arrived at Shannon Airport early in the morning, we found limited options for breakfast. Fortunately, this hotel restaurant was open and provided a delicious and satisfying breakfast buffet. The dining room was comfortable and charming, making it the perfect way to start our journey in Ireland. And the price couldn't be beat.

My husband treated me to dinner here on Valentine's night. We enjoyed the special menu that was created just for the occasion. We were delighted with the delicious food and the excellent service. Despite being busy, the attention to detail was impressive. We hope they continue this tradition next year. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to our family and friends.

The choice on the menu is wide and varied, and caters to all tastes.We had a family dinner and the restaurant made it a special occasion excellence personified
