The Royal Oak Settle

Only stopped in for a drink on the way to a concert venue. It was partly to get local information on where the venue was, however i felt i should have a drink. The service was good, the lady behind the bar was struggling with a previously injured had, but she was cheery and helpful with the directions as was a local sitting at the bar. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 4

Called in for a meal after a walk in the area, a really nice friendly pub, a the meal are really good value for money. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stayed at this old hotel on 13 and 14 September. On the plus side the staff were all attentive and cheerful and the rooms were clean. On the down side there were many areas of the hotel which were somewhat shabby. The Landlord has only been there since May 2023 and is working his way through a long list of matters where improvements are needed. We wish him luck. Food: 3

The whole place needs a total refurbishment of the bedroom and bathroom very grubby. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 2 Atmosphere: 1
