Decent dim sum, fast service, it’s a small place you might need to wait or order to go.
First time here as I saw this place has good ratings.Dim sum is good. Not the best I’ve had. What killed the experience was the service. One lady working to service the whole restaurant. Waited 20-25 min for her to take our orders. When asked for soy sauce and hot sauce platter that other tables had, we got the snarky reply “Im the only one here. Wait.” We waited. She dropped more dim sum off at our table and before we could ask anything, she’s whisked off. After 20minutes, my husband went and asked the table next to us to share their hot sauce/soy sauce platter. When the lady saw, she ran over with what we requested. Will not return.
This past weekend, we had the immense pleasure of having Dim Sum House cater our wedding, and they truly exceeded all expectations. Sam and his team efficiently served multiple rounds of food to our 170 hungry guests, and although my husband and I didn’t get to indulge as much as we wanted (wedding duties!), everything we tasted was a delight. We're already fans from previous visits. The standout dishes included the pork siu mai and the pan-fried shrimp chive cakes, but the real crowd-pleaser that our guests are still raving about days later were the salt and pepper wings. It’s a bit of a surprise to be overshadowed at your own wedding by something as simple as wings, but we’re completely okay with it. We wholeheartedly recommend Dim Sum House, and we are now and forever devoted fans!
We're still on the hunt for great dim sum in LA, and while this was decent for Seattle, it didn’t quite hit the mark. The shrimp toast was tasty, though quite greasy. The dumpling skins were a bit thick for my liking. The salt and pepper dish was enjoyable, but I would have preferred more pepper; the squid was tender, which was nice. The steamed custard buns left me wanting a bit more custard inside. My brother really enjoys the sesame balls. Unfortunately, they had run out of baked taro and baked custard buns. Overall, it was a good experience.
