Salty Bay Seafood Take-out Tavern

Salty's came highly recommended from the OOB Facebook page. We simply wanted to grab a bite to eat and then head home, but what we experienced was a delightful afternoon in the sun with a stunning view. To our surprise, there was an amazing bar next door, a lovely blue cabin brimming with positivity and adorable dogs. You're welcome to bring your own furry friends and sit outside while enjoying Salty's delicious food. I noticed that everyone wore masks outdoors, which hasn’t been my experience elsewhere in OOB, either before or after. However, I think the young man at the food ordering window could benefit from a bit of training.

Tucked away from the main thoroughfare, this restaurant features a lovely grassy seating area overlooking the swamp and river. On a sunny day, it’s one of the best dining spots in Pine Point. While there are other eateries along Pine Point Road, the outdoor seating here is unmatched. You can enjoy a few adult beverages with your meal while taking in the view. If you have kids, you can entertain them outdoors a bit while waiting for your food to be served.

I highly recommend Salty Bay for a delicious and safe dining experience with a breathtaking view. Our family of six, including both adults and children, thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, slightly baked shellfish and cocktails from the cozy bar. Safety measures were in place, with most diners wearing masks when not eating. Although it is a bit on the pricey side, it’s absolutely worth it for the quality of food, the stunning view, and the overall safe environment. The staff is incredibly friendly, and we appreciated their hospitality as well.

We ordered a whole clam dinner and the deep fried burnt mush we were served were definitely not whole clams and were absolutely disgusting. I am embarrassed to be a local and know this is what they are serving to our vacationers. Not a great representation of Maine seafood. Do not go here. Drive up the road to the many other seafood restaurants.
