Cross Butts Stables - Scarborough

We recently had Sunday lunch at this restaurant and were blown away by the fantastic food. We had no complaints at all and will definitely be returning. The staff were polite and attentive.

Went to the restuarant for daughtes birthday. Mixed grill a complete waste of time. Half a small chicken, one small sausage, 4oz rump steak, a huge roasted marrow bone..£20! Haddock chowder was worse chowder ever had and squid rings saturated in oil and still had sinews in them not prepared properly. Both meals returned to kitcken not wanted. While friendly, the staff didn't seem particularly bothered. Unimpressed and would not go back.

Overpriced and disappointing. The burger costs £18 and prawn skewers are £20, but the quality of the food is poor. The staff were friendly, but we were expecting better for the prices we paid. This restaurant seems to rely on tourists rather than repeat customers. Save yourself the disappointment and try one of the many other local restaurants in the area for better food.

We went to this restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed the soup and Sunday lunch. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning and plan to book a few more nights there as well.
