Lobby Lounge - Santa Monica

The lobby lounge has a cozy and charming atmosphere, but the food leaves much to be desired. The ingredients in the salad don't complement each other well, and the dressing is quite unusual. Additionally, the service is very slow.

This is a stylish bar with a welcoming and attentive staff. The ambiance is lovely, situated within an outstanding hotel. They offer an excellent selection of gins, other beverages, and unique cocktails.

Check-in was fine, but the front desk staff seemed busy, and the interaction felt quite impersonal. As for our room, we were disappointed. We had selected a room with a balcony and a sea view, but upon arrival, we found ourselves on the second floor directly above the roof, which was visibly cluttered with leftover towels, cigarettes, pens, and candies. The bathroom faucets, both in the sink and shower, were outdated and not functioning properly. Overall, the space felt extremely basic and lacked refinement, especially considering we spent nearly $500 per night. Room service was another letdown, offering only finished dishes and no desserts after 10 PM. For breakfast, we dined at the Fig restaurant. I ordered the avocado toast, but it was more like cucumber toast with some store-bought guacamole underneath. The service had a more personal touch here, perhaps because I had raised some of the issues we encountered.

My daughter is attending UCLA in the fall. I am looking for routine lodging when I visit her. This hotel is located in Santa Monica within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. The location is wonderful. The room itself is average. I was however extremely disappointed with the outdoor accommodations. We stayed for 4 days and the outdoor chairs were first come first serve. We made several attempts each day to get a lounge chair and not one day were we able to.
