Root Burger - Santa Barbara

The burgers were just average. The wedge salad, on the other hand, was quite good and might be the only reasonably priced item on the menu. Overall, the menu feels lacking and difficult to understand.

Since reopening, the restaurant has returned to its roots, centering its menu exclusively on burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. While I haven't tried the chicken sandwiches or salads yet, I've noticed a significant improvement in the quality of their burgers. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger, and it was cooked perfectly—juicy and seasoned with a generous amount of pepper. Additionally, their onion rings are exceptional, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. This place might just be the best burger spot in the campus/IV area now.

Update: I got horrible food poisoning here from a breakfast burrito with strangely sour salsa and undercooked potatoes in it. I had to miss an entire class cause it messed up my stomach so bad. Not worth the money at all, wish I?d never eaten at this place. French fries looked good but were undercooked and bland. Buffalo blue cheese chicken sandwich was okay, the buffalo sauce had too much vinegar, it was more sour than spicy. I?ll probably try something else and see maybe they were just having a bad day.

One of my favorite lunch spots on campus. I personally recommend the popcorn chicken wrap. Be aware, it's pretty spicy. The fries are also pretty delicious.
