Pack River General Store - Sandpoint

Outstanding Sandwiches! We had a great time enjoying the Prime Rib Special, Chicken Club on sourdough, and Fish Tacos. The Chicken Club featured Granny Smith apples and melted cheese—delicious! My husband was so enamored with the prime rib sandwich that he didn't want to share, but I managed to snag a bite! I would happily order everything again and am so pleased to have found this delightful spot. The atmosphere is simple and laid-back, yet the food is impressively gourmet. I truly appreciate that combination. The staff is friendly, and there are some fantastic items for sale, including beer, wine, soaps, shirts, mac and cheese, casseroles, and desserts. My only suggestion would be to improve the management of the latte machine; I’d recommend sticking to black coffee and getting your espresso from a coffee shop. Nonetheless, it didn't take away from the exceptional lunch experience!

Wow! Have lived in Idaho for 8 years and have never been here! Amazing fresh quality dishes! The Pastrami hash! Great bakery and friendly staff. Become a regular!!

Without a doubt the best food in the city! We have planned our wedding date shamelessly when the Pack River Store was available because the most important thing for us was that our friends and family in fine restaurants, Idaho style and what the employees (cook, line chefs, waiting staff and others) could be thrilled here. The food had our friends from San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas and other major metropolitan regions. Chef Alex makes the experience that is much more enjoyable by bold announcement of each of his complex and yet simplistic pairings of food, a course after the next. Our guests were enthusiastic about each course and still talk about their experience there. While our wedding in the store was quite literally perfect, you can make one of their tasting menus for the same mouth water experiences. The order from the daily menu is also safe to please. We can't talk much about this place as locals. If you read this review to be convinced that you make the trip for a quick bite, stop reading in your car and GO! A real hidden jewel in the Idaho Panhandle. We can't wait to go back again and again!

The staff here is amazing—always friendly and willing to help, no matter how busy they get. The cook is simply the best; the food is consistently fantastic! This is our favorite spot to dine out.
