Mauna Loa Hawaiian Bbq - San Rafael

BEST PLACE EVER. I went with my friends for the first time- not long ago, and since then that's the only place we ever go to. The food is spectacular. The service is magnificent. And the atmosphere/music is so welcoming. There's no doubt; this place is my favorite!(Tip: Try the shaved ice!!!

I've been to several hawain restaurants in the bay area and this is just the worst. I had their teriyaki chicken and it was so dry it sucked the moisture right out of my mouth. It was what I think is chicken breast that is tossed in a cheap watery teriyaki sauce that doesn't stick to the meat at all with literally NO flavor. While everyone else is actually marinating their meats and using quality sauces and cuts of meat these guys are serving garbage. Avoid this place and drive 20 min to get to several good quality spots in San francisco instead.

Amazing food! Macaroni salad is ? and so is the Hawaiian bbq chicken plate I had. Came with the Mac salad and white rice. Hefty portions for sure..definitely didn't leave hungry. I woulda taken a picture but I ate it too fast ?.Parking: Free parking in the evening but costs some amount that I don't know during the day

At last! After 3 grueling years dine in seating has returned to Mauna Loa! Finally I was able to sit down in the restaurant and enjoy a Mauna Loa combo with delicious Katsu Chicken and rice and mac salaedand beef short rib dipped in sweet spicy mauna loa suace and washed down with cold Heineken which i could just grab out of their refrigerator all for a very reasonable $30 before tip! Ohh happy day! ?
