il Postino - San Miguel de Tucumán

The mozzarella cheese used on their pizzas is delicious. One of the best pizzas I have eaten anywhere.

Nice atmosphere and good food, if you like pizza! It's always popular with locals and I think it is considered upmarket, so don't expect to get in if you have your backpack with you. Well if you do, don't expect to get good service.

For a small city, it's considered very good. But judging this place by its execution and flavor of food, it's just average. Salads are sad, very simple and lacking in creativity. The Americana salad is just a pile of shaved carrots, chopped celery, quartered tomatoes, half an avocado, and 1 lonely leaf of iceberg lettuce. But I guess in a country that's meat focused, vegetables are an after thought. The pastas are also very simple. They also charged us 25 pesos per person for service fee. Probably because they knew we were not locals.

Local dishes. Nice atmosphere, kind and quick service, good value for the meat, kitchen at sight. Approx 200 ARS each. 4 stars overall.

I've been in Tucuman for 4 days trying to get food where Amex was accepted. We had eaten dinner twice in the hotel and we wanted to go out. We found that il Postino accepted Amex so we went there today. The place is nice, usually packed, but we arrived just in time to get a table. The service was quick the people nice the server was great and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'm definitely coming back. Please also consider that the waiter's tips cannot be added to the card so you need to bring some Argentinian pesos for it.
