Yummi Tea Cafe - San Jose

This restaurant is an alright spot. I really appreciate the affordable prices. The portion sizes were a bit smaller compared to other places, but it's a cozy spot to enjoy lunch and chat with friends. The spicy Mongolian hot pot with beef and seafood was really tasty. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5.

The base broth was really lacking in body. Although it was very affordable, the quality just wasn’t there. All surfaces and menus feel sticky so you don’t feel clean or like hanging out much longer after you’re done. I'm comparing to Tasty Pot and Boiling Point, and this has to be bottom rung.I’ll be back to try the popcorn chx another day

I love the snacks and drinks here! I ordered their sweet potato fries and their butterfly lemon tea. Their hot pot was not as good imo. The broth was lacking in flavor and there was little veggies and meats. I'd come back for the snacks and drinks!

I discovered this restaurant while searching for a good hotpot spot. I have tried Boiling Point and Tasty Pot before, so I was curious to see how this place compared. The popcorn chicken was delicious - juicy and tender. The coating was more like wonton style, which isn't my favorite but I could tell it was high quality. The fried mushrooms were a bit soggy and lacking crunch compared to the popcorn chicken. The hotpot itself was decent with flavorful broth, but we felt that the portion of ingredients we received was on the smaller side. In comparison to other hotpot places we've tried, it was lacking in quantity.

Our first time here, was not expecting much. The hot pot definitely surprised us. It was pretty decent. I recommend getting the Mongolian for soup and the popcorn chicken was good too. The drink was okay in my opinion. There was also no wait. I think they can definitely up their sauce game, but other than that, not bad.
