Smokeeaters - San Jose

The wings at this restaurant are the best I have tried in San Francisco. However, I deducted one star because the prices here are incredibly high. I understand that inflation has increased, but this restaurant is on a different level. I would probably visit more often if their wings were more competitively priced. $2.35 per chicken wing is quite expensive.

This restaurant stays open late and has counter service, so be prepared to order there without splitting the bill or Venmoing each other. The food and drinks are enjoyable, especially the Cubano sandwich and hot buttered rum. There is also a pleasant outdoor seating area with heaters. One downside for me is that there are TVs both inside and outside, although this could be seen as a positive for some patrons.

Wings are the best I had so far in SF. 1 star, because the prices in this place are crazy. I know inflation has risen, but this restaurant is at a completely new level. I would probably come more often if there were wings a little more competitive.$2.35 a chicken wing is pretty crazy.

10/2020 The dining room is closed, but they have tables outside. I ordered the Western Burger. It is described as Tillamook Cheddar, Onion Rings, Apple Wood Bacon, Smoked Hickory (Sauce), Lettuce Tomato, Brioche Bun. I have the dollar upgrade to sweet potatoes. The Brioche-Back was beautiful, but the Burger-Patty was a mass produced frozen Patty. There was only one onion rings instead. All in all, not bad value for this area. The staff was helpful and friendly, but this is the downtown of San Jose, so I was picked up by a guy who just bought on the next table (free rent).
