Poki Bowl - San Jose

The poki bowl I had was fresh and delightful! I ordered the regular size with salmon and spicy tuna. The salmon was incredibly fresh, and the spicy tuna had a nice kick to it. I appreciated that the avocado add-on was complimentary. The portion size was generous, and I felt quite full afterwards. I chose brown rice as my base, but I think next time I’ll try half salad and half brown rice. This was my first experience with poki that included raw onions, and I didn’t find it paired as well as I expected. Next time, I’ll stick to cucumber as my vegetable add-on. I noticed some reviewers mentioned that their bowls didn’t taste fresh, but I’m glad that wasn’t the case for me on my first visit. I went during lunchtime, so perhaps the fish tasted better because it was freshly prepared that day.

While I would have preferred a wider selection, the service was excellent, and the food was fresh and delicious. I don't have any major complaints.

I've read other reviews mentioning that some people got sick after dining here, but I've visited this restaurant multiple times and have never had any issues. The fish was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my order was accurate.

The rice was a bit undercooked, but the rest of the dish was quite good. On the plus side, the avocado comes at no extra charge!

I have to say, this has been one of the worst poke places I've ever visited. The parking lot gave off a strange vibe, with people wandering around looking like zombies and talking to themselves. The service inside was friendly, so I'll give them 5 stars for that, but the prices are outrageous and the food lacked any flavor. There weren't many toppings or add-ins available, and some of the tuna looked discolored, which made me suspect it was old. I definitely won't be returning to this restaurant. The food deserves less than 1 star.
