Applebee's Grill - San Jose

While the food was good and the service was prompt and attentive on my two successive visits to this location a week apart, both times there were minor hygiene disasters that leave me questioning the cleanliness of the location writ large. In addition, theplacement of a large, flashing LED display right by the entry doorway and shining over several booths and tables is even moredisruptive to the atmosphere than the painfully loud music. On my first visit, upon being directed to our booth, we found thetable still bearing crumpled straw wrappers, napkins, and the sticky stains of the previous diners. This was of only moderateconcern, and we used some napkins to wipe down ourselves. Thankfully, this time, I did not use the restroom. On my secondvisit, they were properly wiping down the booth ahead of us, visible from the check-in desk, and it was clean upon our arrival.However, the men's room was a horrifying mess. The entirety of the bathroom floor was sticky with an unidentifiable liquid, thehandicapped stall toilet was stuffed with paper and sewage over the rim, and the non-handicapped stall door was two inches tootightly aligned making it impossible to fully close or lock. The stench was almost overpowering, to the point I almost wanted toimmediately leave to find another place with another restroom. Food-wise, the broccoli in the classic chicken broccoli Alfredowas slightly undercooked and the chicken very dry. The chocolate meltdown dessert came out with the chocolate part at roomtemperature, but the ice cream was cold and every other dish was 5/5.

Tonight was some bad service! Food came out cold! Both dinner plates! Cheese sticks came out stiff and cold! Not cheesy. Lava cake is supposed to be warm and oozing with chocolate. The lava cake was Literally cold as the ice cream. Like they took it outthe fridge and didn't warm it. Waiter never asked us for a refill for our drinks. We ordered the four Mac and cheese dinnerplates and they came out with no sauce super cold plates. Disappointed WONT BE RETURNING TO ANY APPLE BEES.

The service at this restaurant was awful. I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but the servers were distracted by their phones and AirPods while taking orders, resulting in cold food and a long wait. The restaurant wasn't even very busy when we were there. I would prefer to dine at a different establishment next time.

The restaurant has a great location, with delectable food and exceptional service. The Wonton Tacos were outstanding - we are eagerly looking forward to enjoying them again.

The food at this Applebee's is delicious and the service is excellent. Unfortunately, my experience was dampened by the presence of patrons using foul language in front of families. It was disappointing that the manager did not intervene and ask them to stop in a family-friendly environment.
