Pre Covid) Food: great food and flavor, on the salty side though. I came here for dineLA lunch and honestly such a good deal!! For $20/person service fee but you don't have to tip on top of that), the portions were much larger than I expected I got to take home food for another meal. I ordered tofu, chicken wings, beef and lamb skewers, tenderloin cubes, and pork belly. The pork belly was my favorite because it wasn't too salty and the sauce was really amazing. The tenderloin was very soft and I enjoyed the mushrooms, but I found this dish to be quite salty and had to eat a lot of rice with each piece. The skewers both tasted like lamb but the seasoning and tenderness was really good and I enjoy lamb anyways. The chicken wings weren't anything special but very good, and the tofu had just garlic sauce on the side which was intere Restaurant: it was kind of hard to find and I called to ask where in the plaza they were at but they didn't really speak English. There was barely any other customers and the service was pretty fast and good. They served all the food at once which a little overwhelming but I liked it bc I didn't overeat on the appetizers or grilled skewers. Definitely planning on coming back here!
5 stars for our very yummy dineLA experience. It's located on the very top floor I had never noticed this restaurant here and I'm here all the time for Tan Cha!! The inside is super modern and nice looking. I wouldn't have guessed it was a place for Chinese food, honestly. We all ordered the $20 dineLA special. It comes with an appetizer, main course, skewer, AND rice! You can also add a drink for just $3. Be warned this is a LOT of food! We all ordered different appetizers and tried to coordinate ordering different entrees but ended up with 4 orders of the beef tenderloin. Fail. But the tenderloin cubes were so delicious!! I enjoyed everything. The stamed scallops/oyster were really good, along with the vermicelli it came with. The chicken wings were crispy and moist. The pork belly was a huge portion and melted in my mouth. The skewers were delicious and with a kick! The portions are humongous. They forgot about some items, but they were prompt about it once we brought it up. The wei jiao tofu was good, but beware the garlic sauce is so garlicky it's deadly. Would definitely come back for their dineLA deal! So yummy and the presentation is very nice!
Located on the third floor! It was a bit confusing to find since this was our first time to the Hilton plaza, but at least parking was relatively easy with its ample underground garage. We met up with a few friends for a birthday celebration, but the restaurant hosted us easily with a group of 12+. Some people arrived later and I couldn't tell how many since I was sitting at the end of the table. Since we had a large party, the waiter said it would be best to split by tables for checks. For our table of 5, we decided to share everything family style so that we could try more options. We ordered about 6 different dishes ranging from meats, veggies and rice. Portions for family style is a bit on the small side, but easily shared between 2-3 people. Not large enough to feed 4-5 as the server suggested! We got Beef Tongue, Sausage Fried Rice, Pork Ribs, Braised Short Ribs with Stir Fried Pea Shoots, Dan-Huang Shrimp and Sautéed Greens. The fried rice was supposed to feed 4, but we thought it was best for two at best. The table favorites were the pork ribs for its tangy crispy bits and melt in your mouth braised short ribs. I think the total per person for all of this was about $30/pp with tip! We didn't leave exceedingly full but just enough. We ended up getting boba for the road home but you always leave for dessert, right?!
Although it advertises free dessert. They definitely said no dessert and they don't do that anymore. Multiple beers and things on menu were unavailable. After we got the bill there were multiple mistakes. Up charged the wrong pricing and we had to correct multiple items on the receipt. At least after we complained they corrected the mistakes. Not a bad restaurant had fun with my friends. But not as advertised.
