Master was great and the service was outstanding. We went for an anniversary dinner and they had a card signed by the staff at our seats. They also brought out complementary plum wine for us. It was a lovely experience and will definitely return for the omakase!
Best value sushi in SF. High quality nigiri and rolls at a reasonable (for SF) price. They have special off the menu daily specials as well, but are also sometimes prone to being out of classics (like hamachi)
Once they get their liquor license back it'll be great, the new location is def not as cozy and traditional izakaya as the old mission and 18th location. Food is still great and the staff and friendly. Will be fantastic after some decorating and time.
The fish was delicious and fresh. All the nigiri we ordered were excellent and I liked the preparation and the texture of the rice. Some pieces came with their own seasonings and we were given good instructions of which didn't need dipping in the soy wasabi sauce. We also ordered the tuna tartare appetizer which came with a little mound of fish and avocado plus five tempura seaweed strips. So crispy and perfect with the soft, creamy tuna and avocado. I highly recommend this dish. The things I took note of for myself is that they add that dark sweet sauce over almost all the big rolls, so I need to remember next time to ask for no sweet sauce. I hate sweet sushi except on unagi, the eel, where the sweet sauce works well and is traditional. We ordered the agedashi tofu as our dessert. It was really delicious too. Just be careful not to burn your mouth by swallowing an entire piece like I did. Better to cut them in half and let them cool down a bit. But the creamy, silky tofu with a chewy fried coating and the lightly sweet sauce is such a good combo!
