Sushi Tadokoro - San Diego

While I'm not completely convinced they deserve a Michelin star, the food quality at this restaurant is undeniably high. The venue is small and tends to fill up quickly, so making a reservation is essential. The Omakase option is a bit expensive, but it's worth it for special occasions. The cuisine is quite authentic Japanese, so it might not appeal to those who are accustomed to Americanized sushi. Nonetheless, I believe that everyone should experience this restaurant at least once.

We visited this restaurant for my brother's birthday and had a fantastic experience. We chose the omakase menu, which consisted of 9 courses and was absolutely delicious. The staff asked about any preferences or allergies before preparing the meal, and the rest was left up to them. It was a memorable experience that reminded me of my trip to Japan. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I realized I never wrote a review for this amazing restaurant when we went a few months ago. It is in a small strip mall I old town. Very unassuming. We arrived a bit early and there was a small group waiting outside so we waited outside as well. Once it turned 5pm, they let us in. It is a small restaurant with a few tables and a small sushi bar. Even though this amazing restaurant has a Michelin star, it is a relaxed setting and we were able to get a reservation. The staff was wonderful and attentive and the sushi chefs are amazing. The omakase dinner was beautifully presented and EVERY single dish was balanced and fresh. The highlight was the shrimp that was so fresh it was still moving. They then fry up the head and it was the absolute best. The price is also reasonable. I would go back in a heartbeat. If you have not tried this phenomenal restaurant, you need to go right away!

As patrons of a Michelin-starred restaurant, we had high expectations and were not disappointed! The overall experience was wonderful, with most of the dishes being absolutely delicious. The chef, who personally prepared many of the dishes, was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain each one to us. Of all the amazing dishes we sampled, the clear fish soup stood out the most to me. We had a fantastic time dining here and would highly recommend it. Service was excellent. This review is based on a dinner experience.
