Pizzeria Luigi Golden Hill - San Diego

Nice New York style pizza...great while in California. Pizza doesn't look that great behind the glass but we got 2 fresh slices that just came out of the oven... would go again when in San Diego area. Maybe we'll go closer to opening so there are more fresh out the oven pizzas. For those that are cold they do warm them up for you, but sometimes they come out looking a little burnt so you may want tell the guy in the front not so long unless you like your pizza a little black crispy

So, I was really excited to come try this place and it looks like such a great area! When we went in and looked around, inside the glass casing where you see the pieces by the slice, you could definitely see flies in there. There were also these rolls that we ordered and there were a bunch piled up and sitting uncovered on the top of the casing. There were flies on them as well. I thought maybe those were just for people to see and that there were obviously fresh stuff in the back. I was so happy we ordered a full pizza that they had to cook fresh because I saw them grab slices where the flies were and just put them in the oven to warm up. They also grabbed the rolls that had flies on them and put them in the oven to warm up as well. We…could not eat them. It was so unappetizing. The pizza was pretty good but after everything, I’m not sure we could comfortably enjoy everything :

If I could give no stars I would. First off there is a disgusting fan right by their beverage section blowing right into the kitchen thats, gross. Secondly, I ordered a slice, that was dripping with grease. I 'm a regular here and it was ridiculous. When I brought it back to the counter, the lady at the counter said, well, you ordered it, I tried to warn you. Literally got mad at me for ordering their terrible pizza, then continued to talk about me to other customers after I left. She said, She ordered a piece of pizza and then complained about it I mean the nerve of me wanting a fresh piece of pizza. I haven 't seen Luigi in this place for years, but I cant imagine he or any other owner would approve of this employees behavior. And the restaurant itself is filthy. Not what it used to be.

Great service. they win us for the first time customer discount. children got free drinks. he wanted to offer me free beer! I'm driving. pizza was great. it was crispy. all different toppings. great place to get thin crust pizza!

This place is incredible! Parking wasn't too easy but only had to walk half a block. Walked in and told the guy at the counter we had never been there since we were on vacation. He explained everything and we got a bunch of slices to try. He then through in a slice of a different one we opted not to try, because there were too many already, for free. We tried the bbq chicken, white girl, crime scene, regular pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and Hawaiian. We also had many garlic breads too. It was the best meal of our trip by far. And the price was super reasonable. They have certainly created fans who will absolutely return, maybe even again before we leave again in a couple days.
