Lolita's Mexican Food - San Diego

I visited the restaurant and when I placed my order, I mentioned that I had heard they had the best Carne Asada Fries. The young lady working there laughed and modestly said that the meat was pretty good, but she wasn't sure if it was the best. Let me tell you, it was the best! I ordered the Tsunamiries (Carne Asada and shrimp over guacamole, pickled onions, cotija cheese, and Cheddar cheese) and the taste overwhelmed me. I can only go once in a while because I'm trying to lose weight, but I can't resist coming back for this. It was the best Carne Asada I've ever had!

I ordered the taco roll combo at this restaurant and it was awful in every way. The tacos were small, dry, and made with low-quality ingredients like prepackaged chicken meat and not fresh guacamole. I would recommend going somewhere else, like for pho, instead. I paid $9 for this meal and it was not worth it at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

I have been frequenting this unique restaurant known as Lolitas for twenty years. My go-to dish is their California burrito which I pair with their red salsa for an explosion of flavors. Despite living in North County, I make the trip back almost every week to indulge in this delicious burrito from my favorite spot. I have tried California burritos from many Mexican restaurants in San Diego, but this place always stands out as the best.

Lolitas has been a stable in my diet for over 15 years. They only use locally sourced ingredients and prepare everything from scratch. No wonder their carne asada fries are the best!? Tsunami fries: crispy fries, loaded with carne asada, shrimp, guac, sour cream.? Fish taco: grilled flakey basa, cabbage, pico de gallo? Chicken salad: juicy chicken with an unbelievable verde dressingIf you are looking for some tasty authentic Mexican food without paying the restaurant price, definitely stop my Lolitas!

Wow. Over the years they’ve really upgraded the facility. The decor is slicker. The condiment station is spacious and clean. And the outdoor seating is hip now. But at the core, the food is where it’s at. And I always have patience to come here to get some carne asada fries.
